The article discloses the details of air- and water-cooled small-capacity diesel engines rated at 8 to70 kW that have been developed by CHTZ as a contribution to the improvement of small-sized agricultural and general-purpose non-road machines, including tractors, loaders and gen sets. Engine design features and principal specifications are presented.2 table, 11 ill., - ref.
The article discusses a method of piston skirt profiling with regard to piston thermal conditions, its dynamics and hydrodynamics of oil layer in piston/cylinder liner interface. By example of type 2Т-06 engine friction in piston/cylinder liner interface is considered as a function of piston profile; also projected are approaches to improvement of engine performance.- table, 5 ill., 4 ref.
Separate injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of CHTZ diesel engines results in considerable decrease in mechanical and thermal load onto combustion chamber components, engine fuel efficiency remaining unaffected. Therefore separate fuel injection may be recommended as a measure to retain or improve fuel efficiency when enhancing cylinder output. This may be best implemented in common rail systems.1 table, 6 ill., 2 ref.
New model of fuel combustion has been developed based on chemical kinetics equations. The model takes account of combustion products' dissociation, physicochemical properties of fuel and air, heat transfer to combustion chamber walls, and charge leakages. Adequacy of the model was verified through comparison of analysis results with the results of tests carried out on 1-cylinder type 1CH15/16 engine with space-dispersed self-ignition.- table, - ill., 14 ref.
Presented are some results of processing of vibrorecords made on engine running under varying operational conditions, through use of principal components method. Principal advantage of this method is that processing of Ћtime seriesЛ hash in certain consequence (viz., parts' vibration) enables recovery of engine indicator diagram to prescribed accuracy.- table, 6 ill., 9 ref.
The analysis of known methods of calculations of torsional vibrations in marine shaft assembly demonstrated that these methods need to be further improved. A model of mechanical system together with related software was developed for torsional calculations based on universal principal coordinates method; the article presents some examples of its usage in designing and analyses of various mechanical systems.- table, 3 ill., 9 ref.
The article presents detailed summaries of CIMAC 2007 papers concerning gas-turbine supercharge and turbochargers, as well as their influence on engine emission performance. 11 ill., 11 ref. /BLOCKQUOTE> - table, 11 ill., 11 ref.Contents

Influence of Non-Newtonian Oil Properties on Stresses in Connecting-Rod Bearings // Dvigatelestroyeniye. 2008., Й 3. а. 4042.Hydromechanical characteristics of connecting-rod bearings lubricated with non-Newtonian oil were calculated; the results are presented in the article. The analysis was carried out with regard to tractor engine type 4в 371. 03. Viscosity of non-Newtonian oil depends on shear rate; said property is demonstrated as contributing into reduction of friction losses, and, therefore, decreasing bearing temperature. Furthermore, it results in considerable thinning of lubricating film.1 table, 3 ill., 3 ref.Contents
